The following components will permeate our online fantasy magazine with quality reading and imaginative graphics.
- Short Stories 500 to 5000 words
- Novelettes 10,000 to 30,000 words
- Non-Fiction Thoughts and/or view points on Fantasy 300-500 words
- Graphic Fantasy genre
Writers and artists can e-mail submissions to editor@newfantasywriters.com or you may send your hardcopy to Fantasy Gazetteer, P.O. Box 158, Palatine, IL 60078-0158. If you chose to submit your story, article or art to us electronically, please DO NOT send your work as an attachment. We will not open the attachment. It is a security measure for our computers and software. Send it in the body of your e-mail following your query letter.
Story Submissions
All writings should be checked for spelling and grammar.
All fantasy submissions should be sent with a one or two page query letter and the full copy of your story. Your query letter should include: author bio and writing history, a brief synopsis of the story you are submitting, a word count and your contact information (address, e-mail and daytime phone number). Your story should be in either Arial or Times New Roman and either 10 or 12 pt and double spaced.
Non-Fiction Fantasy Analysis Submissions
All non-fiction fantasy analysis submissions should also include a one or two page query letter and the full copy of your article. Your query letter should include -- author bio, writing history, a brief synopsis of your article, word count and your contact information. Your article should be submitted in either Arial or Times New Roman and either 10 or 12 pt. Also include a copy of your works cited if that is the nature of your article.
Graphic Art Submissions
All graphic art should also include a query letter so that we may better understand your art. Your query letter should be one or two pages and it should include a bio, history of your artistic background and your contact information. Your query letter should be submitted in either Arial or Times New Roman and either 10 or 12 pt.
If you are sending a hard copy of your work to us and you would like us to reply in writing to you, please include a self-addressed stamped envelope with your submission. If you would like us to return your copy to you, please provide us the the correctly sized envelope with the proper postage. Otherwise we will shred your copy and recycle the paper once a decision has been made to include/disclude your work. If we like your story, but we believe it needs some more "polishing," we will return the story to you for additional editing on your part. WE CANNOT DO THIS FOR YOU -- Remember this is your work, we want it to reflect your style and personality.
Note about our Current Contests
If you are considering submitting a story for the short story or novelette contest you MUST BE 18 years old and a resident of the United States of America.
A Word About Copyrighting
If you choose you may contact the Copyright Office to submit your work for registration at www.copyright.gov. We encourage all writers to investigate your options for the protection of your work.
