Editorial - Part #2 (The New Writer's Adventure)

Catherine Balachowski

Issue #2 (April 2008)

We are dedicated to being a spring board for the new writer.  It is a path we find ourselves on with you the writer.  Of course without the fabulous stories of our story weavers we would find ourselves out of a job, but that is not our goal.  We invite all writers, but we truly encourage the unpublished writers to find the courage to submit your stories.  It is our belief that within you lies the adventure of a hero who would save the land he lives on or perhaps just himself.

The story always seems to start off with a need perhaps even the following of a thread of truth that our hero must follow.  Why does he / she find it so difficult to ignore the call? It is a simple answer, more than just a the quest of a warrior, but instead the desire within humans to see a trial through, to test the knowledge we have gained, to stand on our independent feet and breath in the beliefs we hold true.  I say it is a simple answer and I believe it is so, but there is nothing simple about following the quest and holding firm to our beliefs.  It is the only option we have sometimes, that is to hold true to ourselves and tell the tale.
