
Joanne Weck
Joanne Weck, published novelist and short story author, has been dedicated to writing ever since she won her first poetry contest in third grade. Many of her tales, based on stories passed down by her parents, are set in rural Pennsylvania where her ancestors settled before the Revolutionary War and where she grew up.Her plays (Waif, Criminal Neglect, Beyond Redemption) have been featured in New Jersey theaters, including Playwrights’ Theater, Madison, and John Harms in Englewood. A Geraldine R. Dodge playwrights’ fellowship allowed her to study with some of the most prolific names in theater, including Olympia Dukakis, Adrienne Kennedy and Anne Bogart. She has written for Scholastic Magazines Sprint and Action. Her short stories (Autumn Wedding, In Loves Wake, Carter’s Wife) have been published in literary journals, magazines, and online journals including RiverSedge, First Writer’s and Jimston journal, and named as winners in Writers Digest contests.Her mystery CRIMSON ICE, under the pen name of A.
